Default 2000 rpms

if this is a recent problem or one that is new to the season, try a tune-up first, plugs , filters,ect... if that don't work , go to the fuel system, is it pulling steady fuel? is the ball in the line staying hard? to check it ,have some one squeeze it while you are running and if it is soft , have them pump it up and see if it makes a difference, after that you need to go to the ignition system, are all the coils firing at high rpm?these are just a few things that a shop will check first that may save you some time and money, but if your not sure of what you are doing ,I can tell you as an experienced mechanic,it may be better to have it checked out because outboards can be very tricky and leaning a carb or offsetting the timing can cost you a powerhead and you DONT want that!! let me know!
