so looking at those pictures, the top is a standard deal,is the bottom just the one nut over the cable housing,it should be right,you sound like you know your s**t,at least as well as me,so let me say this,2hrs. on what.....a brand new drive!! LOL! only kidding,but seriously,when was the last time you did a job that did'nt take longer than it should!! LOL
