alpha 1 problems
I recently had to swap engines 3.0 mercruiser because mine had blown up. Bought a used one. Starts up really good. Will run for about 15 minutes then start backfiring and quit. Sometimes will start back other times it want. Started it yesterday let run in idle for about 15 min went to put in gear only backfired never would go in gear. Had a mechanic to tell me that it sounds like the alpha 1 is seizing up maybe one of the bearings and bogging down the engine. What do you guys say?
