Default Crusader electric fuel pumps

customer has a 97' ? with twin big block crusaders,does the elect fuel pump come on with the key before cranking or in sequence with computer?I disconnected the line on the pump and cranked it up and got no fuel,so..... it should need a pump?

First make sure the line is primed and there is no air in the lines, than put your ear next to the pump and listen to see if the motor is running, if you don't hear anything, take a volt meter and check the voltage at the pump connection.

Default crusader fuel pump

now we go back to the original question,will the pump run with the key in the ON position, or when it is cranking,aand should it be 12volts or is it less,it should be a full 12 and it should run with the key on to "build" pressure,NO?

When the key is turned to the on position it will run for about 10-15 sec. so it can build up pressure,to be able to start
And it should have a full 12 v. or whatever your batt. volt is at that time.

Default Fuel Pumps

Fuel pump's should come on as key is turned.
If not a relay / solenoid or the pump is not getting power.
Just check for power when key is ON
