225 Suzuki

I have a 2004, 225 suzuki four stroke.The motor is peeing water, but the over temp alarm is going off.The motor has appx 100 hrs. the water pump has been replaced and ran fopr 30 hours with no problems. There are several things that could be the problem, however I don't know where to start. How likely are the thermostats the problem??
