1978 Johnson 85HP
I just purcashed a 1978 Johnson 85HP. When in reverse the prop will not engage, sounds like the gears are stripped. I have removed the cable and put shifted it and still not engaging. It does fine in forward and runs great. Is the gears for reverse different from forward? Can I replace them without removing the lower unit?
