Default 97 evinrude ocean pro

I need some help here fairly quick. I just had a 1999 175 evinrude ficht go out on me( stange huh?) I am not about to rebuild the power head and am looking for a replacement. I think I have found one in a 1997 evinrude ocean pro 200hp-carbureted. Is this motor a durable choice?

Default Ocean pro

The older 2 stroke outboards often had problems with 1) alcohol fuel additives, 2) Fuel cleaning agents (Techlorine) and 3) Carbon build up in the engine. On my early 1990s engines, the rubber fuel hose disolved and all of the rubber gaskets in the carb.

I would look for a newer model Yamaha motor. You might call "Voyager" marine in Alviso. See what they have.
