Default boat lift question

hello all, I am currently working on my old boathouse which hasn't been used in years. It has an electric lift that is in good working order, but on the name plate of the hoist assembly, in the space for the weight capacity,it has either worn off or faded away. The hoist assembly is an "Ace Power Hoist" mfg. by Ace Lab,inc., Columbus, Ohio. The S/N is no. 42. Its the type of belt driven lift that turns a 2" pipe and cables and is still made now.The big turning gear has a no. 48 on it and I'm guessing that is the teeth count. The motor is a westnghse. 1/2 hp.,1725 rpm.,115/230 v.,1 ph. I plan on hanging a boat & motor weighing approx. 2000 lbs. and want to be sure this lift will handle it. If anyone can help me or point me in a direction, I would really appreciate it. Thankyou Sincerly, Bruce
