Default Does world cat stand behind boats???

I bought one of 9 boats that World Cat made that had diesel power. WC knew immediately that there was a design problem with the engine hatches not being water tight. The NMMA missed them, but gave the HTS and SX models "CERTIFICATION".

The engine hatch is on the swim platform and has a horizontal portion and a vertical portion and it leaks all the way around. My boat was hull #2 in this series and in less than 30 days it blew one of the volvo diesel motors, and WC had to give the first owner his money back. But rather than fixing the hatches properly, all WC did was put a new engine in it and resell it to the next sucker. I eventually bought it from Town Creek Marina in Beaufort N.C. and although TCM knew of the water entry problems from this second owner, they failed to disclose it.

The WC dealer who sold this boat first admitted that WC knew about the problem, knew this boat had issues, and when I requested info on this boat Phyllis said "we don't have any service records and we don't know about any problems with this boat". That is odd because they had to pay the first owner back in San Diego when it blew a motor.

After 16 months, my insurance looked at the boat and totalled it due to a "manufacturing Defect" with the hatches. If these were just standard hatces it would be easy to fix, but one estimate I got was for $18k to fix the them properly. To date Andrew Brown will not admit they knew about all the issues. One guy in California has been fighting WC since 2005 trying to get them to fix his boat and so far WC will do nothing. He bought his boat new and could only put 266 hours on it, he kept getting alarms going off, starboard engine has no power, port motor runs poorly, and the boat has been in the shop the last 26 months. It has been in the shop 10 times in the first 2 years. Volvo d3-160 diesels should last longer than 300 hours. My boat only had 190 hours when it was totalled.

Does this sound like a company that stands behind their product? This is 3 owners who have been blown off by WC and these 3 owners have been lied to, put off, and told there was nothing that could be done. Again, I ask does this sound like a company that stands behind their product?
