new to outboards

I just recently got a small boat 14ft and two evinrude 18horse outboards, I'd like to find out how to identify the year of manufactor and how to get parts for these things, one I found is a 1965, needs a new shear pin prop.
Also are these things supposed to have oil all over the motor???
I would think not, but I know little to nothing about boat motors.
I would think some gasket is leaking.
Since the transom has been replaced on one, where would I find the serial number to identify it?
