Ericsson 4 Is First

Sweden?s Ericsson 4 retained its large lead in the Volvo Ocean Race around the world and was less than 300 miles from Cape Town, the end of the first stage of the event, where it was expected to arrive Sunday. If Ericsson 4 arrives first in Cape Town, it will take the lead in a race that is determined by points, not the fastest overall time. Participants will depart from Cape Town on Nov. 15 for Cochin, India, the second stage of the event.
